Ed Hardy Tattoo Nails

Here are my Ed Hardy Tattoo Nails. Apply a thin layer of natural/mix acrylic. Then i put the temporary tattoos ontop like you would onto skin using water. Then apply a fair amount of CLEAR acrylic ontop. Drill, Buff, Polish with Non Yellow Top Coat and VOILA! BAM! you have pimptastic nails!



My first attempt at the Tattoo Nails. I used a natural tip with natural/mix underneath and Clear ontop.


This was my second attempt at the same design. I used a clear tip with clear underneath and ontop of the tattoo. It's neat because you can see right through the tattoo. like its floating or something. weird eh. the one on the right i tried just to see how it would look ontop of french. it looks awesome.

Today means more nail stuff. I am going to try to swirl acrylic for the pink and white. I want to try to do some weird metallic japenese competition inspired nails as well. Should be interesting.

I haven't updated with nail crap in awhile. Guess i haven't had time to do any kick ass nails lately either. I'm going to try to do some Japanese styled nails. Even though they're ugly as shit. They're long and pointy and stuff. Not square like normal nails. They're more artsy and centered around Nail Competitions. We'll see. I got drunk as shit last night so i'm suffering today. I feel like vomiting everywhere. I realize i'm older now and can't drink like i used to. EFFIN A. fucking vodka.

Jax's Pirate Theme

I know he's a year and a half now, so the crib setup is definitly not the same... but i just wanted to show what i did for him. I deleted the myspace album dedicated to his awesome stuff.


My friend had this made for me I still use the bag!!! I effin love it.

I bought the carseat cover off of ebay. It is the most awesome of awesome!~ The green dude I crochet'd all by myself. Straight out of my head. No pattern nothing. I Just went for it. The monster's butt says Jax on it. Of course I stitched it. I also made a blanket for Jax. One side was skull and cross bones, the other side was a super soft orange fabric.

This is the pirate ship. This one i did copy. I found the picture online and painted it on canvas board.

This one i made up as a i went for it. I freaking love this picture. It turned out ALOT better than i thought it would. YAY for me!

AND that is his flag. Pottery Barn Kids had it on sale and i fell in love with it. The black crip bumper was a bitch to find. Tabbi special ordered it online because try as you might you'll never find it in a store.

Anyways. I had to post this so i never forget how awesome my son's baby theme was.

this is the tattoo i'm getting the first week of April. I will be in Mississippi visiting my best friend(Not Teddy, Tabbi. Yea i have a thing for collecting friends that start with a T). Tabbi and i went to bandcamp together and we both thought it would be fitting to get this tattoo together!

also i am getting the symbol for karma. My mom just hasn't figured out where to get it yet. That's all i'm waiting for.

It's a neat symbol and i'm getting it on my left wrist. i'm sure i'll post a picture of it. I am going to get at the same time the phrase "Flowers while loved fall, weeds while hated flourish" I think i'll have it going down my left forearm unless i find a more suitable place. so yea. That's that. I'd love to get Words Create Words but I realize that even just suggesting that would be an automatic no. Maybe one day.

Aside from that I'll be getting Jax's name around my skull and crossbones. Jax Joseph. yeap. It'll be bad ass since his entire baby room theme was pirates (he has a pirate flag over his crib, i painted a black and white pirate ship and i also painted his name in different pirate objects. The J was a hook, the A was a treasure map, and the X is obviously crossbones. i'll post the pics in a new update) How fitting is that then to have his name by my pirate skull? yeap. BAD ASS. That's what i thought.

Lastly i think i will be getting a blue ringed octopus on my R shoulder. Wrapping the tentacles into the area where my armpit crack is (yes that's my technical term for it thank you very much). The reason i love this octopus so effin much is because of how awesome it is. It is surely epic. Fully grown its only the size of a golf ball and it has enough poisen in it to kill 26 adults within minutes. WTF right? I am going to quote this so here goes "First you will feel nauseous. Your vision becomes hazy. Within seconds you are blind. You loose your sense of touch. You cannot speak or swallow. Three to ten minutes later you are paralyzed and unable to breath." DUBYA TEE EFF YO! that's messed up. The guy I want to do it is one of 2 (epic) underwater realism artists in America. Thankfully he's here in Ybor! Effin expensive though. 200 an hour. It should only take 3 or 4 hours.

wookie/shookie and ouch in my head

so i got a total of 4 shots from the neurologist 2 days ago. 2 in my shoulders and 2 in the back of my head. i haven't had a migraine since. BUT i fainted 2 times in the office. literally fainted. eyes rolled back and i slumped down TWICE. i guess if i get a few days of migraine relief passing out is something i can do once a month!

i was left alone at the salon today. i did my own nails. took fucking forever. per Dave's 6six6 request i have dark blue tips with a silver accent. it was so slow so today. I went on MFC last night with Teddy playing COD. I was dumb and did shots of rootbeer vodka. Not watered down, Not water. Straight up vodka. I ended up doing 8. fucking a man. Apparently I got shloshed and started drunk rambling. Which led to a huge fight. oh man.

I'm driving on an expired license so I will be getting that tomorrow. But since i'm working on 3 hours of sleep from the night before i'm worn the fuck out. I am really looking forward to seeing MCS. It is like a light at the end of the tunnel. Not to mention i really love the house of blues in Orlando.

Anyways... thats my update for now. I shall post one tomorrow. I think. since i was shloshed last night on cam, I did my wookie call. Except I was so drunk they called it a shookie. It sounded like a female wookie. high pitched and awful. good god what was i thinking?

Just bought 2 tickets to see MCS in orlando!!! WHOOO HOOO! I'm dragging Justin since I don't know anyone else who enjoys MCS. For sigh. This band has definitly impacted my life :)

here is my MCS nail. its small as shit. and this picture is small as shit. Thirdly, i've been listening to MCS nonstop for the last few days and i cant stand to listen to it sometimes, and other times i fucking love the shit out of it. I especially love track 3 and 4.

lastly here is my design for Words Create Worlds. I realize i can't write for SHIT in polish. so I am going to redo this one and use a fine tipped Sharpie for the words instead. but here is my rough draft for Words Create Worlds. (heh sharpie...heh) this picture doesn't do it justice. it was a shitty picture from my shitty voyager. There is MAD glitter on it. Either way i'm posting these because they make me smile.

I first tried leaving WORDS ontop, then realized noone in their right mind would get it but me.. ok maybe one other person or two... but thats besides the point right now.
You see... words really truely do create worlds. You can be anyone or anything using just words and a little bit of imagination. Thank GOD for imagination and dreams, and hopes, and goals.

These are Tia's nails, one of my customers. Totally Glittertastic! This was the longest fullset i've ever done. And this was one of her shortest! Good thing she wanted shorter nails...

Its been a good year, a good new beginning, I'm through with the old school, so lets commence the win,I've been a good little worker bee, i deserve a gold star!

so with these songs all fresh in my memory i am updating this nail-ish blog with a few random thoughts. I decided i'm going to not only update this with cool nails, but a few random thoughts here and there as well. I don't have much of an outlet aside from this and playing COD MW2 with a few people so why not use this blog for just me?

i have been hooked on Motion City Soundtrack and can't stop listening! Seems like alot of their songs hit close to home.

here are a few nails just to keep you busy. i am working on a few nail designs that remind me of fun times. i shall post them in the weeks to come.

crap. i ran out of time for today i was the only one at the salon and it was busy non stop. CRAP. ok nail update tomorrow or wednesday.

whoa now.

A new day means new designs... ALL handpainted.. of course but i did copy them out of the nail mag. pink and glitter striped, freehand black swirl shit (that i only semi copied from the mag), maroon nail with a purple heart, add some white dots and voila! The next nail is a heart wreath of roses. inside written love. it was supposed to be straight, but whatever. i can't make letters that small. If someone asks to do it i shall write J+S instead of Love inside. at least that would fit. the roses all have 3 colors and leaves. The next is black and silver argyle. The next is two different colored pink polishes blended to a fade, then with black designs ontop.Added some iridescent glitter and PACHOO (bless you) you have an awesome nail. The last one is a pearl colored nail with 2 different shades of green and black for the clovers. all hand painted with a detail brush. Added a top glitter coat and you have an instant St. Patty's nail.

Oh my, my, my! Nancy's toes are so dry- they need oil something fierce! but either way i painted her toes Salsa Red by China Glaze. then used Love My Nails Crystal to make the diamond design. it looks SAUCY!

And this... this is my toe. Classic french (yawn) with Love My Nails hearts and crystals. You should be able to find this at your local walmart in the Love My ____ section of the beauty department for a dollar they're flat and look like regular rhinestones. These won't pop off like the regular ones because they're flat. I might have said this before. Oh well. yea... so i have some blinging toes as well.

Last but not lease, this is my friend Eugene. He sits on my lamp and keeps me company during the day. Thanks to the Tampa Aquarium he is now a permanent resident at Define Nails here in Brandon Florida.

my newest nails... Valentines day series. done on 1/20.2010. yea... pretty cool.. copied them right out of the nail mag. the last one on the right is 3d acrylic which i did on my own. fish with plants and a seashell. gold sand...

Quickie

Haven't posted in awhile, i've been super busy with life. I have been doing great at school, doing full sets are no problem anymore, i'm learning "pink and white", but i'm twisting the technique with cracked ice,colored acrylic, and such.

Here are a few of my October designs. October is breast cancer awareness month, so in honor i have done a TON of toes with ribbons. I didn't take any pictures, but they're all pretty much just pink toes, with pink ribbons on them with some glitter to jazz it up. below are my pumpkin toes and Halloween designs.

Black nail polish i picked up at Sally's. Pro something is the brand, then i painted the pumpkins with acrylic paint, topped it with some nail glitter and topped it with OUT THE DOOR top coat. which seems to be my favorite top coat so far. super shiny and dries really quickly!

french with pumpkin-acrylic paint, candycorn-acrylic paint, black with pumpkin-acrylic paint and glitter, spider and web-acrylic paint with glitter, bat-acrylic paint then outlined with glitter polish stick, frankestein is also acrylic paint. This picture doesn't show very well the TINIEST of details in the ribbons, or the halloween designs. the ribbons have 2-3 different pinks.

Below are my "pink and whites". I got bored with regular pink and white and decided to play around with it... i first designed the heart out of dark pink acrylic. then carefully used white to edge it and make the tip. cut, and voila! heart in tip!

i bought a cheap set of acrylic colors and have been playing around with the "pink and white" technique. This picture doesn't show how bright the neon yellow really was, and i originally thought i was using magenta, but after adding nail monomer, it turned dark blood red-bummer.

For these i used blue and purple acrylic, then topped it with blue and purple cracked mylar ice. regular pink and white style, but jazzed up. this was my first attempt, and i didn't file or drill for this picture... so yea.... don't hate on the shape!

I've also been playing with designs, copied a few from my friend(who copied them from somewhere online), and came up with a ton of my own. I am not posting pictures of ALL of the designs today.

These are some designs my friend copied from the internet, and i then copied her. the last one is my own creation using glitter. I didn't add the clear acrylic over it as i would've liked to. Sadly i was all out of clear. the other designs are super cute. The one on far left is asian inspired. i used the nail art striping paints(i can't figure out the right name for those things), the rose buds were done with nail art paint thingys as well, the purple nail design was used with half acrylic paint and half nail art sticks(again, still struggling with the technical term for those things) a dotter and some glitter. The black and white nail was created using acrylic paint, and a touch of glittter. For the red nail i used polish and nail art stripers.pretty cool designs right?

tiny flower using a dotter and a tooth pick to make the lines in the petals, and nail art stick thingys for lines and "leaves", then dotter again for black mini dots and center of flower. looks pretty cool on a longer nail bed.
my zebra toes, inspired by my friend Dani. We used bright medium pink for top half, white for bottom half, and used a black nail art pin stripe thingy for the zebra lines. glitter line to seperate the two and BAM! you've got really awesome toes! I got ALOT of compliments on these.

the last picture is pretty dark, but i used LA colors art stick polish thingys for all the designs.

I have been using an art box with lots of different compartments to hold all my nail polish accessories, but its overflowing, and the snap locks are coming off! I have been on the search for a Train Case. I seem to take a liking to the OPI cases since they have 32 slots for polishes. Only problem is that they're super expensive. I found one at walmart, but it wasn't big enough, and i haven't looked at Sally's, Sephora has a few, but they're overpriced in my opinion. Ebay seems to be a hotspot(as usual), but i am afraid of buying one and it not being big enough for all my stuff.

I have 51 hours left of school, and then i graduate. In florida you only need 240 hours to get your Nail Technician Certificate. So i'm ALMOST there!!!

First nail update

Hello everyone I just wanted to post a picture of my nails! My friend came over and gave me a full set. She used aquamarine northern lights acrylic for the tips and light pink tammy taylor for the pink. She did the pink and white backwards. She did the pink first, then applied the aquamarine tip. Pretty neat. Didn't have to use a cutter of any sort. Then she used acrylic paint to make the colorful hookerific design.

I have a few pictures of my own nail art as well.

My friend Alice showed me how to do these butterflies and Dahlia showed me the swirl/streaks?

The octopus and the xoxo's are acrylic paint and a very tiny detail brush, and the black and pink dots and lady bugs were used with polish. I used a dotter tool to make the black and pink tip design, and nail art polishes to make the lady bugs.

These are all made with acrylic paint and a tiny detail brush. You can buy the brush at any craft store or buy a detail brush at Sally's. I also used a glitter nail art polish to detail the designs because i didn't have glitter dust to blow over the acrylic paint as it was drying.

This was my very first full set i did these about 2 weeks ago! thanks to my sister! I'm still in school and i'm quite proud of my full set! i use a number 18 brush and i've practiced my acrylic a MILLION times before even attempting a full set. my teacher wanted me to do fill ins and full sets weeks ago but i didn't have the confidence yet...

She kept it simple with black tips, a silver glitter line, and some lines and dots on the ring fingers. Wish she would have let me go crazy on all 10 fingers, but oh well, maybe next time :)

Let me just say that i've been using the Art Deco Nail Art brush/pens and they're difficult to design with. I'm an artist naturally, and using polish is a really hard medium to use. I prefer Acrylic paint and i had some tiny pots already. My friend Tiffany came over today (she has been doing nails for over a year now) and she told me her salon uses only acrylic paint for designs, and let me just tell you how extremely happy that made me :) I am heading to Michael's (our local craft store) to stock up on Apple Barrel Craft Paint. Scrap Booking Glitter Dust, Sand Art Bottles to put the Glitter Dust in, AND.... 1 or 2 detail brushes.

I am a VERY happy girl today!
